Walter Novellino’s men are leaving Roccaporena and heading back home in preparation for the upcoming Coppa Italia match against Arezzo.
No major splashes have been in the market recently, aside from an expected move in Christian Stuani being loaned out to Spanish side Real Sociedad. In the upcoming days we could possibly see the departure of Joelson and the addition of one forward. As of now the arsenal contains Emiliano Bonazzoli, Franco Brienza, and Fabio Ceravolo. It is looking more and more likely that Brienza will stick around :] Another signing could also be made in defense, as Santos is unable to start the season. Novellino has experimented with Emmanuel Cascione in defense and has apparently been impressed with what he has seen… thus decreasing the chances that Cascione will part ways.
As of right now this is how we are shaping up:
Goalkeepers – Mario Cassano and Pietro Marino
Defense – On the exterior we will see Andrea Costa or Simone Rizzato playing on the left.. while Antonio Busce or Daniel Adejo can play on the right side. Central defense consists of Santos, Maurizio Lanzaro and Carlos Valdez (pending whether or not Valdez will be sold)
Midfield – The most concrete positions that we’re sure of is in central midfield. Sergio Volpi and Carlos Carmona will be starting, while alternative options are Emil Hallfredsson and Nicolas Viola. Hallfredsson is typically a left winger, but Novellino believes he fits well as a central midfielder. On the right we could see Alessio Sestu (should he return), Biagio Pagano, or Simone Missiroli. Those three players could also be employed on the left, as could Rizzato. Antonino Barilla is another left midfield option, who may move to center midfield due to the abundance of options.
Attack – As I said before.. Bonazzoli, Brienza, and Ceravolo is what we have now. Expect Joelson to be sent to another Serie B team. Don’t rule out the addition of Daniele Cacia, but for now that’s just a pipe dream.
Here would be my ideal formation (leaving out the injured Santos):
Cassano
Busce Lanzaro Valdez Costa
Adejo Carmona Volpi Hallfredsson
Brienza Bonazzoli
I love Adejo and I guess if we see him as a right-back, I won’t have any complaints. I’m ready for the season to begin. Forza Reggio.

Hi,
I’m a Barnsley supporter, and our manager says that on Friday an International midfielder, who played in Serie A last season is flying in on Friday.
According to the Icelandic press, it is definately Emil Hallfredsson, and he does meet the description.
What can you tell me about him? How does he play? What position’s does he prefer?
Thanks for any help.

yes
((( it is true. and this is the worst news I have ever heard. Emil is my favorite player, I own a jersey with his name and number. He has played for us the last 2 seasons… never got a fair chance for playing time aside from the first few months he was here with a manager that got sacked….he prefers to play as a left winger or left midfielder. he’s physical, talented and skillful with the ball, and has a wicked long distance strike.
i wake up every morning holding my breathe to see if there is any news that he is transferring. and now i read this today and my heart was ripped out of my chest. it’s only a loan (with right of redemption)… so i really hope hope hope he comes back.
read my other posts, i clearly express my love for him. i also run his facebook fan page. i hope you enjoy him.

Well, we were given the price tag of £1 Million, which we won’t pay until we’ve watched him on loan.
So you’re going to get a decent price anyway.
