Cacia to Reggina?
By: Dan | August 27th, 2009
Our problem with depth at the forward position might be resolved soon. TMW is reporting that President Foti was in Milan today to continue negotiations with Lecce for the signature of 26-year-old striker Daniele Cacia.
Cacia, who made a name for himself during his long tenure with Piacenza, has spent the last couple seasons with Lecce and Fiorentina. He was never really able to break into regular first team action with the Viola, which is why he ended up in Lecce. I would be extremely happy with this signing and it would only reinforce our status as one of the main contenders in Serie B.
Reports are that Cacia is leaving Puglia today to go to Calabria and put the pen to paper. Keep your fingers crossed. Other reported rumor is that a possible swap with Grosseto could occur, which would send Joelson their way for Carl Valeri, the talented Australian midfielder. I would also love for that happen.
*UPDATE: Ladies and gentleman…… we got him.

I’d be really happy if we get Cacia, hes a good player with plenty of potential… and if we get Carl Valeri, well we’ll get a decent midfielder in our ranks to hopefully repalce Vigiani

I think, these signing and swap would make sense.
Just make it happen, Lillo!

Wow! I don’t even knew Valeri till yet.
Really impressive, what I read about him.
He can play as a central midfielder, and was capped 14 times for Australia.
He played in the youth teams from Inter.
C’mon Lillo!

yeah I really like Valeri. We need another decent midfielder after Hallfredsson left. Other than Volpi/Carmona it gets thin in central midfield. Viola is good but still really young.
