Honors Even at the Garilli

adejoI refrained from hyping up last weeks 1-0 victory over Frosinone due to superstitious reasons. I will now break my media silence.

Reggina drew level today (0-0) on a Monday road trip to Piacenza. Both teams were solid in defense, and their current league positions kept the teams playing cautiously. Despite the lack of goals in the match, each team had a few moments that made you hold your breath. Perhaps Piacenza came the closest to breaking the deadlock in the second half, only being denied by the woodwork.

Couple changes were made to Roberto Breda’s 3-5-2. We saw Andrea Costa instead of Rizzato, and Emmanuel Cascione played in place of the suspended Tedesco. Former Piacenza hero Daniele Cacia was paired with Franco Brienza up front. Cacia asked for playing time and he has gotten it over the past 3 matches, but has failed to impress. Except to see Bonazzoli back in a starting role this weekend.

What’s there to say about a 0-0 draw? I love Daniel Adejo [pictured] getting another 90 minutes of action. He’s proven to be a valuable asset in an unfamiliar central defensive role. Pietro Marino has held his own with the injury to Fiorillo. When you’re 6′7″ like Marino is, it’s hard to do a lot of wrong.

I’m not buying into this “let’s string together some wins and aim for a playoff spot” mindset. Can’t look past survival at this point. Glad we picked up SOMETHING on the road today. Now we have back-to-back home matches beginning with Modena this weekend. Check back here Saturday when I’m bragging about our victory ;]

One transfer tidbit: Jose Montiel has ended his loan in South America and is back with the team. Will he have a place in Breda’s squad? Only time will tell!

Yo i was happy with this draw, altho a win wouldve placed us higher up the ladder and give us some breathing space. Needless to say A draw is a better than a loss so all good. With 2 hm games coming up we should hopefully rack up 2 important wins to drag us away from the relegation zone… Im guessing we need at least 45-50 points to avoid relegation (more teams therefore more points need compared to the 40 in serie a.)

Im also extremely excietd about montiel coming back… Ive always liked him and im hoping he can come back and give us a lil south america flair and prove how good he really is
