Serie B Approaching
By: Dan | August 18th, 2009
A lone goal from Franco Brienza (pictured) was enough to see off Brescia 1-0 on the road in the third round of the Coppa Italia. We move on next to face Palermo.
In fact, #99 Brienza has scored in both Coppa contests and is developing a beautiful rapport with Emiliano Bonazzoli. It is definitely a sign of more good things to come, which is why the recent transfer market news is unsettling to me. Parma is apparently interested in Brienza. I don’t care if we bring in another forward (Daniel Cacia) or not. Brienza is a vital part of this new project and without him the entire chemistry of the team is in jeopardy. Doesn’t Parma have enough strikers as it is?? Paloschi, Vantaggio, Bojinov, Lanzafame just to name a few. I mean come on. Just take your stupid gold crosses and back off, Guidolin.
All we need is to bring in a talented central defender, especially if we lose Carlos Valdez to Cagliari. Other than that and maybe a backup striker, this team is complete and is going to do great things this year. Why does this transfer shit have to come up a week before the season begins. I’m not happy about any of this.
Speaking of the new season, it kicks off this weekend. Our match against Cesena, however, was postponed to Monday. This means there is absolutely no chance that I can watch it, even in the small chance that it would be available to watch. Stupid work. Expect a preview later this week and more posts to come if there is any transfer news. Let’s just all hope Brienza stays. BLEH
