Transfer Madness
By: Dan | August 31st, 2009
I didn’t post anything about the 1-1 draw with Padova for obvious reasons. Well #1 is that I didn’t get to see it, but #2 is that it was a disappointing performance. While the headlines this weekend will talk about the World Cup Qualifiers, Serie B goes on. We play Vicenza on Sunday and need to bounce back in front of our home fans. But first thing is first – the transfer window closes this evening. Let’s take a quick look at what’s been developing -
Carlos Valdez- An agreement has apparently been made with Lazio for the outright sale of Valdez. He’s been a great player and I hope for his continued success in the Eternal City.
Maurizio Lanzaro- We’ve heard rumors of Chievo and Livorno wanting Lanzaro. But remember Lanzaro has professed his desire to stay in Reggio. Another rumor that surfaced was that he could be involved in a trade with Brescia. But knowing that Lanzaro wants to stay put, I think it’s safe to say he isn’t going anywhere.
Piermario Morosini- The former U-21 midfielder is an outcast in Udine right now, and is our main objective. A deal is in the works for Morosini and, should it be done, will put to rest the idea of a Joelson-Valeri trade with Grosseto.
Davide Zoboli & Andrea Rispoli- The defending duo from Brescia are being linked to a move to Reggina. A double swap sending Lanzaro and Cascione to Brescia was the original idea. But with Lanzaro being unwilling to move, a deal involing just Cascione and Zapoli could be on the horizon.
And there is also the objective of adding another forward to the squad. More to come later when it’s all said and done…
